Gerard Butler Interviews

Since the mid-1990s, Gerard Butler, the Scottish actor, has been a popular interviewee in both the American and British press. However, Butler became even more frequently interviewed in 2009 when he went on the press circuit for several popular movies (including “The Ugly Truth”) after his successful star turn in 2007′s “300.” For instance, the United States’ Esquire interviewed him in a feature called “300 Things We Didn’t Know About Gerard Butler” (for their June issue) and the UK’s Telegraph. In these interviews, Butler has revealed that he was brought up in Glasgow in a strict Catholic family, and after a brief sojourn in Canada with his family, attended law school at Glasgow’s main university. While “The Ugly Truth” with Katherine Heigel proved to be a critical disappointment, Butler was nonetheless welcome on a variety of American television programs to promote his turn with Jennifer Aniston in “The Bounty Hunter). While the two of these films included significant appearances on television, Butler has been a staple of the late night talk show circuit since 2005– including the “Tonight Show with Jay Leno” (where he has made a total of 7 appearances, the first in 2005), David Letterman’s “Late Show” (where he has only made one appearance), and his fellow Scot Craig Ferguson’s “Late Late Show.” The appearances with Mr. Ferguson (four in total) are particularly noteworthy due to the two performers shared heritage. Gerard Butler is currently at work on a number of cinematic projects and will undoubtedly be featured again on television and in the entertainment press supporting these projects.
